Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB)

With a total monitoring solution, the Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB) ensures reliable operation of business-critical application for approximately 4,500 employees at about 100 location.

For Berliner Wasserbetriebe, the use of an end-to-end monitoring solution is a major milestone on the path to total IT monitoring. With CitraTest APM®, the Berlin water supply company currently monitors 13 business-critical applications, which have to be permanently and reliably available to employees at about 100 IP networked locations. They range from corporate Intranet and central SAP system to a special system for sewer maintenance. More applications will be added.
Objective documentation of work quality

In addition to improving system stability, CitraTest APM® measurements provide IT employees with an important document showing their work quality. Monitoring experts analyze the measurements every month and post the results on the Intranet so that all BWB employees can always see how reliably the systems have performed. The evaluations are based on a central service catalogue that describes IT services and connects them to service-level agreements. “IT employees are more motivated because they want to have good measurements. Their work quality can now be reliably documented,“ said the department head.
